EQ Audit #2

RANT

Oh look, another day, another attempt to erase entire identities from existence—all under the tiiiiiiiiiired-ass trope of “protecting kids.”

Trump’s latest executive order? Defund schools that teach about race, gender, and politics. Because apparently, acknowledging reality is just too much for fragile minds to handle. But let’s be real—this isn’t about kids. It’s about control. It’s about making sure the next generation grows up ignorant enough to uphold the same oppressive systems that have been screwing people over for decades.

And as a queer person in this country? I’ve seen lived this play before.

It takes me right back to high school, where the unspoken rule was: don’t talk about being queer, don’t ask for ANY visibility, and for fuck’s sake, don’t expect to feel safe. Teachers avoided LGBTQ+ topics to keep things “neutral” at best, or to outright deny my existence at worst, while kids like me sat there, watching our identities get erased in real-time.

Now they’re just putting it into policy. Making it law to keep us silent.

Because that’s what this is really about—erasure. If they can keep kids from learning about queer people, trans people, systemic racism, and historical oppression, then maybe, just maybe, they can pretend we don’t exist and continue to perpetuate this nonsense!

But here’s the thing: We do exist. And we are not going anywhere.

I’m pissed. I’m tired. And I am not about to sit here and watch the government gaslight an entire generation. So let’s do what we do best:

🔥 RANT – Done. (For now.)
🧠 REFRAME – Time for another EQ Audit to break this shit down.
💡 RADIATE – Because nothing pisses them off more than Sparking AUDACIOUS Love in the face of their hate.

Let’s go.

REFRAME – EQ AUDIT #2

Trump’s executive order to defund schools for teaching race, gender, and politics? EQ disaster.

This move is fear-driven, divisive, and built on ignorance. But how does it hold up against actual Emotional Intelligence (EQ)? (Spoiler: it doesn’t.)

Let’s run it through the EQ Audit and see just how deep this failure goes.

1. Enhance Emotional Literacy

đź”´ Rating: 2
Does this order show emotional awareness? Nope. It’s fueled by fear and control, ignoring the reality that kids already exist in a world full of race, gender, and politics. Silencing these conversations doesn’t make them go away—it just makes sure kids are unprepared to navigate them.

2. Recognize Patterns

đź”´ Rating: 1
Textbook historical erasure. Every time people in power feel threatened, they ban the books, rewrite the history, and silence the voices that challenge them. This isn’t new—it’s just the same old oppression with a fresh coat of bullshit.

3. Apply Consequential Thinking

đź”´ Rating: 2
They know this will harm students. They know it will force teachers to censor themselves. And they know it will push queer, trans, and BIPOC kids further into the margins. They just don’t care. Are we seeing a theme already? 🤔

4. Navigate Emotions

đź”´ Rating: 1
This order is reactive. Full stop. It’s driven by fear, ignorance, and a desperate need to control the narrative. Instead of encouraging kids to think critically, it shuts down the conversation entirely.

5. Engage Intrinsic Motivation

đź”´ Rating: 1
A real leader would want students to be informed, empathetic, and prepared for the real world. This? This is just an authoritarian power trip.

6. Exercise Optimism

đź”´ Rating: 1
Optimism? Where? There’s no hope in erasure. There’s no future in banning knowledge. This isn’t about creating opportunity—it’s about limiting it.

7. Increase Empathy

đź”´ Rating: 1
Empathy is completely absent. This order ignores the reality that students of color, queer kids, and other marginalized groups deserve to feel seen, safe, and represented in their education. Instead, it actively works to erase them.

8. Pursue a Noble Goal

đź”´ Rating: 1
Noble goals lift people up. This does the exact opposite. It silences, restricts, and reinforces power imbalances. Instead of Sparking AUDACIOUS Love, it fuels fear and exclusion.

Final EQ Score: 1.25 🚨 FAIL. 🚨

This executive order is a masterclass in low Emotional Intelligence. It’s a direct attack on knowledge, identity, and progress. It fails at emotional awareness, empathy, and ethical leadership on every level.

So what now?

We RANTED. We REFRAMED.

Now it’s time to RADIATE.

Let’s take this fire and Spark AUDACIOUS Love in the face of erasure. Let’s make sure kids never have to wonder if their history, identity, or existence is too “political” to be taught.

RADIATE

Alright, we ranted because this shit is unacceptable.
We reframed because emotional intelligence demands better.

Now, we radiate.

Pause…Breathe…Hold that space

Because while these lawmakers are busy trying to erase entire identities from classrooms, there are real kids sitting in those same classrooms, wondering if they matter. And they do.

I remember what it felt like to sit in a school where no one said the word "queer" unless it was a slur. I remember the hate in the halls. I remember watching teachers dance around history like it was too controversial to acknowledge the truth. I remember learning real fast that people like me were an afterthought—if we were even thought about at all.

And I refuse to let any other generation go through that same bullshit.

Here’s how we show up.

🔥 We make damn sure kids know they are not alone.
If the system won’t say it, we will. If the curriculum won’t teach it, we’ll find another way. If kids don’t feel safe at school, we build spaces where they do. Because no kid should ever have to wonder if their existence is "too political" to be acknowledged.

🔥 We fight for them like we wish someone had fought for us.
I don’t care if it makes people uncomfortable. I don’t care who it pisses off.. Kids deserve better than this. They deserve honesty, representation, and an education that doesn’t pretend their lives don’t exist.

🔥 We protect the educators who are out here fighting back.
The teachers pushing back against censorship? The librarians refusing to pull books off shelves? The school staff creating quiet moments of safety in an otherwise hostile environment? They are doing the work. We lift them up, we support them, and we refuse to let them stand alone.

🔥 We build what we needed.
For every queer kid, every trans kid, every BIPOC student being told they don’t belong—we build community, visibility, and unapologetic presence so they never have to question their worth. We become the adults who show up, who protect, who fight, and who make sure these kids never have to feel the way we did.

This is how we Spark AUDACIOUS Love.

Not by sitting back.
Not by keeping quiet.
Not by hoping things will get better on their own.

We get loud. We protect. We show up. Because no executive order, no book ban, no attempt at erasure will ever be enough to stop the truth from shining through.

And if these lawmakers think they can silence us?
They better fucking think again.

Let’s go. 💥
